About the
A.C.P.F.
“Providing educational programs,
resources, and scholarships to college-
bound students and their families in the
communities that we serve.”
WHAT IS THE ACPF?
The American College Planning Foundation (ACPF) is a project of United
Charitable Programs. This tax-exempt, not-for-profit foundation is dedicated to the
advancement of higher education with the following mission:

“To provide educational programs, resources, and scholarships to college-
bound students and their families in the communities that we serve.”

It is our goal to assist families in preparing for a successful and rewarding college
experience, using a host of college planning resources that ACPF offers to the
community of college-bound students and their parents.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The ACPF college planning resources include educational workshops, private
counseling sessions, and internet based tools. These resources are offered to the
local community, free of charge.

ACPF programs are made possible through the efforts of volunteers organized as
Regions. Established in each metropolitan area where programs are offered, the
local Region organizes, funds, and implements select programs appropriate to the
needs of the particular community.

Regions consist of all-volunteer coordinators and manage all local operations, but
are not separate legal entities. The ACPF Board of Advisors, in coordination with
the Congressional District Programs, Inc. Board, oversees operations, local
resources, fund raising, and alliances with schools and community organizations.

OUR TAX STATUS
Since ACPF is qualified as a non-profit 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1)organization as
a project of United Charitable Programs, Federal and State laws apply in
governing regional operations and funding.
These laws ensure that the public
need for improved preparation for - and access to - higher education is paramount
in all Regional activities.

All donations to ACPF are considered charitable contributions by the IRS.
